MYSTIC: Kenneth D. Brown Jr., 93, of Mystic died on Friday, November 21, 2025 at Avalon Healthcare Center. He is survived by his beloved wife, Carol Brown.
Ken was born on December 29, 1931 in Philadelphia PA, the son of Kenneth and Martha Brown, and grew up in Falls Church, VA.
After graduating high school, Ken served in the Navy and was a veteran of the Korean War. After being discharged, he attended UVA, where he earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering.
Ken began his civilian career at Electric Boat, advancing over 33 years to become Vice President of Operations. After retiring from EB, Ken went on to build up and manage Pequot River Shipworks, producing fast ferries for the Mashantucket Pequots.
Avid boaters, Ken and his wife Carol had many adventures, including many charters to the Virgin Islands. When boating was no longer possible, Ken’s creative passion became building motorized boat models.
In addition to Carol, his wife of 53 years, he is survived by his children. They include Debbie James and her husband Ted, Tommy Brown, Kathie Lincoln, Kimberley Lincoln, and Matt Lincoln and his wife Barbara, as well as eight grand-children and four great grand-children.
Ken was predeceased by his grandson, Ryan Lincoln.
All services will be private for the family per Ken’s wishes.
