
Dana Riley, 71, of Fairhaven, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, November 15, 2025. He was the son of the late Robert H. and Sally A. (Jackson) Riley.
Born in New Bedford, Dana had lived in Fairhaven for more than 30 years. A mechanic by trade, he worked for the Fairhaven Shipyard for many years. Known to many friends as “Tech” for his skill and expertise working on boats, cars, and tractor-pulling throughout New England and New York, he was always willing to lend a hand or share his knowledge. Dana also enjoyed playing pool and pursuing photography.
He is survived by his three sons: Christian T. Riley of Westport; Matthew P. Riley and his significant other, Mika Fought, of Taunton; and Adam J. Riley of Westport. He is also survived by his two grandchildren, Ava Riley and Thomas Riley; the mother of his grandson, Stephanie Izzo of Cranston; and his former wife, Jane Riley-Leonard of Winthrop. He is predeceased by his loving godchild Jennifer Kent of Dartmouth.
His siblings include Deborah and John Smith of Dartmouth; Donna and Steve Morash of Dartmouth; Michael and Robin Riley of Dartmouth; Robin Riley of Westport; Tracy and Christine Riley of Texas; and Patrick Riley of Florida. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
Memorial visitation, to which relatives and friends are invited, will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, from 4-7:30 P.M. at Potter Funeral Home. A memorial service will take place at 7:30 P.M., after the visitation.
Interment will be private.
