
WEBSTER – Merilyn F. (Dumond) Grzyb, 90, died Monday, November 17, 2025 in the presence of her family. Her husband of 53 years, John W. “Jasu” Grzyb, Jr., died in 2009.
She leaves six children, Karen A. Grzyb of Cordova, IL, Carol A. Cooke, and John A. “Jack” Grzyb and his wife Denise, all of Dudley, Janice M. Daniels and her husband Gregory R. Daniels of Webster, Robert W. Grzyb and his wife Sheryl of Dudley, and Andrew N. Grzyb and his wife Christina, also of Dudley; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister Rita Gatzke.
She was born on April 23, 1935 in Keegan, ME, a daughter of Albert and Eva (Collin) Dumond and lived in Woonsocket, RI, Oxford and then in Dudley and Webster for most of her life. She attended Saint Anne’s School and graduated from Bartlett High School.
Merilyn was a kindergarten aide and a kitchen worker in the Dudley-Charlton Regional School District before retiring in 2002.
She was a communicant of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. She enjoyed polka dancing, visits to the ocean and especially spending time with family and friends.
Her funeral will be held on Friday, November 21, from Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street, with a Mass at 11:00 AM in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 16 East Main Street. Burial will be in Saint Joseph Garden of Peace. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 10:30 AM Friday in the funeral home, prior to the Mass..
