Kathleen A. (Maher) Belmonte, age 74, of Norton, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, November 16, 2025 at Alliance Health at Maples in Wrentham. She was the beloved wife of Christopher Belmonte, to whom she was wed for fifty-one years.
Born in Boston, MA on November 27, 1950, she was a loving daughter of the late John J. and Mary G. (Murphy) Maher.
Kathi grew up in the Town of Dedham and graduated from Dedham High School in 1968. She continued her education, graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in 1972 from Boston State Teacher’s College.
Prior to retiring, Mrs. Belmonte had been employed as a Teacher’s Aide for Attleboro Public Schools. She had made her home in Norton for the past fifty years, was a communicant of Saint Mary’s Church in Norton and a member of the Massachusetts Teachers Association.
Kathi’s favorite times were those spent in the presence of her adoring family. She especially enjoyed collecting decorations and decorating for each holiday occasion. Kathi also enjoyed crafts, jewelry, cooking, baking and spoiling others with her delicious homemade cookies.
In addition to her beloved husband, she is survived by her devoted children, Christopher J. Belmonte and his wife Melissa of Turners Falls and Colleen E. Belmonte and her life partner Gordon Sylvia of Norton. She was the cherished Nonni of Atticus Belmonte, Enzo Belmonte, Nola Sylvia and Pax Belmonte. She was the much-loved sister of Kevin Maher and his wife Mary of Dedham, Brian Maher and his wife Gail of Newport, RI, Brenda Benda and her husband John of Dedham, Arlene Gillies and her husband Eddie of Westwood, Jimmy Maher and his wife Cathy of Dedham, Stephen Maher and his wife Fern of West Yarmouth and Michael Maher and his wife Karen of Wareham. She was the dear sister-in-law of Francis Belmonte and his wife Rosemary, Gregory Belmonte and his wife Susan, Lucille Mastromarino and her husband John, twins Mary Nash and her husband Ed and Jimmy Belmonte and his wife Mary Ellen. She is also survived by here numerous loving nieces and nephews.
Her Funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Friday, November 21st at 12 Noon in Saint Mary’s Church, 1 Power Street, Norton. Burial will follow at the Newland Cemetery in Norton.
Visitation will be held prior to the Funeral Mass on Friday morning beginning at 10:30 A.M. at Saint Mary’s Church in Norton.
