Obituary

Dhimitraq Jano, 92, of Worcester died Saturday, November 15th in Bay State Hospital. He leaves his wife of 17 years, Adelina Jano; his daughter Katerina Kristo and her husband, Vasillaq, and his son Albert Jano and his wife, Valbona; a brother, Kristaq Jano; four grandchildren, Klaus Alexander Kristo, Kristina Kristo, Maria Jano and Amy Jano; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife of 47 years, Theodhora (Katundi) Jano and his brother, Kozma Jano.

Born in Blush, Erseke, Albania, Dhimitraq was the beloved son of the late Hari Lazi Jano and his wife, Katerina Jano. A member of St. Mary Assumption Albanian Orthodox Church, his faith was important to him and guided him throughout his life.
He was a talented carpenter who took great pride in his craft. Whether building, repairing, or creating something new with his hands, he approached every project with patience, skill, and care. His work was a reflection of his character—steady, thoughtful, and made to last.
Dhimitraq found joy in the simple, meaningful moments of life. He loved tending to his garden, watching the Celtics, going on walks, and cooking meals that brought people together. He took great pride in caring for his grandchildren and seeing them grow up throughout the years. He was a present figure and was always able to lift everyone up with his humor.
Above all, he cherished time spent with those he loved and was a true family man. His kindness, quiet strength, and warm presence will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.
His visitation is Wednesday, November 19th in St. Mary Assumption Albanian Orthodox Church, 535 Salisbury Street from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. followed by his funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery, 119 Webster Street.
