David A. Albee

CHICOPEE – David A. Albee, 83, a longtime resident of the Aldenville section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Thursday, November 13, 2025. He passed into Eternal Life at Care One at Redstone in East Longmeadow surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family. He was born in Springfield on October 2, 1942, a beloved son of the late Winston and Sadie (Bembenek) Albee. He was raised and educated in Springfield, lived in North Carolina and Florida and moved to Chicopee in 1993 where he lived the remainder of his life. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps and attained the rank of Private First Class. He was the Owner and Operator of the Albee & Sons Painting Contractors and retired in 2009. David was a member of the Tigers Athletic Club and a Past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Elder Council No. 69, both in Chicopee. He was an avid sports fan and most especially enjoyed spending time with his family and many friends. He leaves his three loving and devoted children, Laurie L. Lucier and her husband, Troy, of Conway, John D. Albee and his partner, Holly Cummings, of Indian Orchard, and Brian S. Albee and his wife, Erin, of Chicopee; his nine cherished grandchildren, Michael Croteau, Anthony Croteau, Maryssa Croteau, Vincent Croteau, John Albee Jr., Brooklyn Albee, Xavier Gomez, Izaiah Gomez, and Brianna Albee; his five cherished great grandchildren, Giovanni, Anthony Jr., Anastasia, Max, and Isla; his dear sister, Cynthia Mackey and her husband, William, of Springfield; and his many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family members and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his two brothers, Robert Albee and John Albee and his wife, Joyce. His relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life Service on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at 9:30 a.m. at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020 (funeral home will open at 8:30 a.m.). His Committal Service with United States Marine Corps Military Honors will follow the Celebration of Life Service at 11 a.m. in the Chapel at the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam, MA 01001.
