Eleanor R. Sarcione, 86, of Derry, NH, passed away Monday November 10, 2025, in Salemhaven Skilled Nursing and Rehab in Salem, NH. She was born on August 27, 1939 in New York City, NY, a daughter of the late Robert and Jane (Tomb) Rose. Ellie was a resident of Derry for the past 53 years, relocating from North Andover, MA in 1972.
Ellie worked as a vet tech for Angel Memorial in Boston. She also at one time worked as a school bus driver. Prior to the death of her husband Bill, they ran B & E Gas Company. Ellie was an animal lover, with a special place in her heart for great danes. In her younger years, she was an avid Harley motorcycle rider and also enjoyed raising and riding horses.
In keeping with Ellie's interest in the preservation of Derry's open lands, she served on the town's Conservation Committee from 1999 through 2010. She also served many years as an assistant moderator for town elections.
Ellie is survived by several extended family members and friends. She was predeceased by her husband William Sarcione, Sr. in 1990 and her brother Robert T. Rose in 1983.
Following cremation, calling hours will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2025 from 4 - 6 PM in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A graveside service will be held on Friday November 21st at 10:00 AM in Forest Hill Cemetery, 47 East Derry Road, Derry, NH.
