Obituary

Worcester – Edna L. (Belanger) Vienneau, 100, of Worcester passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 8, 2025 in the Holy Trinity Nursing Home.

Mrs. Vienneau was married for 70 years to the late, Gerald J. Vienneau who died March 18, 2020. She is survived by two daughters, Diane T. Snow and husband Gary P. Snow of Worcester, MA and Joan L. Ellis and husband Robert W. Ellis, Jr. of Amelia, OH; two sons, Thomas E. Vienneau and wife Julia Vrooman of Swarthmore, PA and Michael R. Vienneau and wife Madeleine D. Vienneau of Ogunquit, ME; 7 grandchildren; Christopher W. Snow of Worcester MA, Daniel N. Snow and wife Andrea Snow of Indian Land,SC, Stephanie M. Gordon and husband William Gordon of Sanford, NC, Elizabeth Vienneau of Severna Park MD, Alice Vienneau and husband Jacob Koffer of Bryn Mawr, PA, Brittany Bricker and husband Michael Bricker of Batavia, OH and Tristan Ellis and wife Rachel Ellis of Glen Cove, NY: 8 great grandchildren; Mackenzie Snow and Madison Snow of Worcester, MA, Temperance Bricker and Millicent Bricker of Batavia, OH, Ava Snow and Ariana Levitan of Indian Land, SC, Simon Koffer of Bryn Mawr, PA. Kamarii Ellis of Glen Cove, NY along with many nephews and nieces.

Edna was born in Nashua, NH, daughter of the late Albert and Blanche (Levesque) Belanger and is also predeceased by two brothers, Albert Belanger and Robert Belanger.

Mrs. Vienneau graduated from North High School in 1944 and then continued her education at Saint Joseph School of Nursing in Nashua, NH graduating in 1947. She worked as a registered nurse for many years retiring in 1980 from the pediatric office of Dr. W. Clifford Smith.

Edna, also known as Mom, Memere and Aunt lived a life of service. She was gentle, kind and loving, taking care of others from family to friends her entire life. Her holiday meals were legendary, everything made from scratch including a wide selections of pies, cookies, or cakes. Often besides family she would invite friends to dinner so they wouldn't be alone, filling the house with love and laughter.

Edna was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Church in Worcester. Alongside her husband Gerald, she volunteered for the Massachusetts Association of the Blind for over 25 years. She was also an avid candlepin bowler, and enjoyed going to bingo. She loved to knit and crochet, especially mittens, hats, scarves, and throws.

A calling hour will be held from 9 to 10 AM on Friday, November 14 at the Alfred Roy & Sons – Henry Funeral Service Memorial Chapel 33 Ward St. Worcester, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM in Our Lady of the Rosary Church 25 Fales St. Worcester. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Contributions in memory of Edna may be made to Massachusetts Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired or Holy Trinity Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Worcester MA.
