STEEP FALLS- Linda (Lynna) Darlene Doucette, age 72, passed away on November 5, 2025, at home unexpectedly.
She was born in Bridgton, Maine on March 1, 1953, a daughter of the late Carlton and Doris (Colby) Doucette.
After graduating from Gorham High School in 1972, Linda attended a comprehensive Employment and Training Act program for women, in Virginia for three months to learn to operate heavy machinery.
Linda worked 30 years for Tilcon/Pike as a flagger, truck driver and eventually operating a paver. Linda also had her time as a foreman in Western, Maine.
Linda enjoyed family, friends, her cats, and camping/canoeing on the Saco River.
Linda was very artistic, loved photography, poetry, gardening, painting, coloring, reading, writing, sewing, woodworking, taking comfort in her old movies, cooking, traveling, talking with her loved ones and helping others. And she loved her crystal light iced tea like it was going out of style.
She loved deeply and gave of herself generously.
Linda has always been a free spirit who loved her time with her friends. In her early years, she was always on her motorcycle with a hiking pack. Those white bandana patched pants will keep walking down that long highway of life.
Linda is survived by her daughter Susan Grant and granddaughter Breanna, Sister Florence Cousins and her partner Brian Sawyer, of Gorham; brother David Doucette and his partner Angela Bunnell of Standish; brother Scott Doucette and Heidi of Limington; Mary Low and husband James Low of Gorham. Also leaving many nieces and nephews and their families.
Visitation will be held on Saturday Nov. 15th from 1 - 2:30 PM at the Poitras, Neal & York Funeral Home, 71 Maple St., Cornish. At 2:30 PM there will be an opportunity for anyone to share their memories and stories of Linda.
