MANCHESTER, CT - James A. Harris, 71, of Manchester, CT and a longtime resident of Springfield, MA, graduated to Heaven on Thursday, October 30, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family, near and far, at the Westside Care Center in Manchester. He was born in St. Johnsbury, Vermont on March 11, 1954, son of his beloved parents, Alice M. (Curtis) Cabrera and Ignacio Cabrera. In his earlier years, he lived in St. Johnsbury, and then Burlington, VT. He moved to Springfield, MA, where he graduated from Springfield Technical High School. He lived in Springfield for many years before moving to Connecticut where he resided the remainder of his life.

James was an auto parts sales associate for several automobile dealerships in the surrounding area. He was a member of the Hot Wheels Club and truly loved his time cruising the roads on his 2005 Harley Davidson Anniversary Edition Fat Boy. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and many friends.

He leaves his son, James Harris, Jr. and his two daughters, Phylicia and Jacklyn Harris, all of Connecticut; his grandchildren; three brothers, his twin, John M. Harris and his wife, Virginia, of Rancho Murieta, CA, Robert I. Cabrera of Burlington, VT, and Daniel W. Cabrera and his wife Cindy, of Grand Isle, VT; and many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends, and extended family members. James was predeceased by his parents, infant brother, Kenneth Harris, and his sister, Linda Cook and her husband, Michael.

We would like to express our gratitude to the staff of Westside Care Center, Masonicare Hospice, and Hartford Hospital for their compassionate care of James.
