CHICOPEE – Florence Mary (Podsiadlo) Dzialo, 94, of the Fairview section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Friday, October 31, 2025. She passed into Eternal Life at the Agawam East Rehabilitation and Nursing Center surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Holyoke on January 14, 1931, a beloved daughter of the late Alexander and Mary (Kalisz) Podsiadlo. She was raised and educated in Holyoke and moved to the Fairview section of Chicopee in the early 1950’s where she lived the remainder of her life. She was a longtime waitress at the Denny’s Restaurant in Chicopee working until she was 78 years old. During that time at Denny’s she established many kind relationships with people in the area. She was truly a selfless person who devoted her life and worked extremely hard for her family. She was a longtime communicant of Saint Anne Church in Chicopee. Florence enjoyed cooking, gardening, working around her beloved home, and will be fondly remembered for her “world’s best” apple pie. She often liked taking trips to test her luck at Mohegan Sun Casino as well as visiting the casinos in Atlantic City. Florence loved to shop, never able to resist a “great deal”. Most of all, she loved to spend time with her family and many friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and soul mate, Alfred F. Dzialo who was Called Home on May 24, 1978. She leaves her two loving and devoted sons, Richard F. Dzialo and his wife, Cynthia, of Belchertown, and David F. Dzialo and his wife, Cynthia, of Granby; her three cherished grandchildren, Christine Dzialo and her husband, Henrik Laursen, of Aalborg, Denmark, Alex Dzialo of Brooklyn, NY, and David Dzialo, Jr. and his wife, Corinne, of Granby; her four cherished great grandchildren, Finn Bering Dzialo Laursen, and Ella, Penelope, and Jacob Dzialo; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, and extended family members. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her dear sister, Albina Rosinski; and her four dear brothers, Joseph Podsiadlo, Stanley Podsiadlo, Fred Podsiadlo, and Frank Podsiadlo. Her family will receive friends on Friday morning, November 14, 2025 from 9 am to 10:30 a.m. which will be followed by a Prayer Service at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will follow the service at Mater Dolorosa Cemetery, 152 Pittroff Avenue, South Hadley, MA 01075.
