She was the loving wife of Jacques (Jack) R. Pelletier. They were wed on October 20, 1973, and shared 24 wonderful years together until his passing in October 1997. Born in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late Aime and Doris (Hemond) Dupre.
Cheryl was a 1966 graduate of Pawtucket West High School, and in 1969 she received her degree from the Art Institute of Boston. After college, she managed a residential home for girls with intellectual disabilities at St. Joseph Pine Harbor School in Pascoag, RI. She also had worked as an art director, and for many years, before her retirement, she was employed in managerial positions with Wal-Mart stores.
She was a long-standing communicant of St. James Parish community where she was an active member of the church choir and participated in numerous church-related social events. Furthermore, for years Cheryl had devoted not only countless hours of her time but also utilized her creative talents by volunteering in different venues at the Fr. Marot CYO Center of Northern Rhode Island.
As president of the Manville Manor Tenants’ Association, she worked closely in conjunction with the Lincoln Housing Authority to provide a comfortable, safe, and welcoming Manville Manor community,
Blessed with her artistic talent, Cheryl’s creativity crafted many beautiful memorable works which include samples of sculpture, paintings, ornaments, pieces of jewelry and ceramics. These artistic expressions, given with love to family and friends, are treasured gifts.
Cheryl enjoyed traveling and spending time with her “fur babies,” Coco, Max and Sadie, which held special places in her heart.
Those who were fortunate to have Cheryl in their lives remember her as a warm, honest, and caring person who was a good listener, and the epitome of a true dear friend.
Cheryl is survived by her extended family of cousins from the Dupre and Hemond families as well as her husband’s extended Lafayette family. Cheryl was a special and devoted cousin of Anne Marie Dupre and her husband James McCormick and their family of Barrington. She is also survived by her stepfather Robert Garner of Florida.
