Joseph Harold Sorrells, 80, of Tifton passed away Sunday, November 2, 2025, at his residence. His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 4, 2025, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Todd Garner officiating. Mr. Sorrells will be laid to rest at Tift Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service.
John Fletcher Sr., Matthew Fletcher, Salvatore Rifino and Ty Sorrells will serve as pallbearers.
Mr. Sorrells was born in Sylva, North Carolina on January 3, 1945, to the late John Edward Sorrells and Pauline Campbell Sorrells. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, James Sorrells, Claude Sorrells, Bobby Sorrells and Bill Sorrells; and one sister, Geneva Webb. Before retiring, he worked as a supervisor and J.P. Stevens (Forstman); and he was of the Baptist faith. For enjoyment, he loved to fish and loved all sports, especially baseball. He also loved his country and served in the United States Marine Corps.
Mr. Sorrells loved his family and he is survived by his wife, Yoneko Ishimine Sorrells of Tifton; two sons, Tony Sorrells of Poulan and Jeff Rogers of Tifton; two daughters and son-in-law, Judy and John Fletcher of Omega and GiGi Mcnabb of Sumner; one brother and sister-in-law, Jody and Linda Sorrells of Jacksonville, Florida; and four grandchildren, Josie Rogers, Emily Rogers, Raiden Rogers and Ty Sorrells.
