HIRAM- John Clifford Thorne, age 74, passed away on Oct. 28, 2025, at Central Maine Medical Center.
He was born on July 18, 1951, a son of the late Manville and Barbara (Lord) Thorne. John graduated from Bridgton High School and SMVTI with their HVAC program.
He proudly served our country in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed at Lackland AFB, in Texas.
Over his working years, John was employed as a refrigeration technician for trucking companies such as R.C. Moore and Atlantic Great Dane.
John will forever be remembered for the enjoyment he had riding his Harley, watching football- especially the Patriots, and outdoor activities like hunting.
Besides his parents, John is predeceased by his brother- Dale Thorne, who passed away in 2022.
John is survived by his daughter- Barbara Toye and her husband Benjamin of Windham; stepdaughter- Leandra Womack and her husband Chris of Gorham; siblings- Sharon Osgood and her husband Arthur of Baldwin and Michael Thorne of Otisfield; and five grandchildren- Lilah, Eleanor, Bryce, Conor, and Ava.
A memorial service will be held on Friday Nov. 7th at 1 pm at the Poitras, Neal & York Funeral Home, 71 Maple St., Cornish. Burial will follow at Lakeside Cemetery in North Sebago. Online condolence messages can be submitted at www.mainefuneral.com
