Juan Gamez Mendoza, lovingly known as “Juanito”, passed away at the age of 44 in Tifton, Georgia.
Juan was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend whose love for his family was at the center of everything he did. He is survived by his loving wife, Hallie Gamez, and their children, Mia Gamez, Logan Lucas, Diego Lucas, and Emma Lucas, as well as his beloved grandson, Giovanni Ortiz.
He also leaves behind his mother, Guadalupe Vasquez; siblings, Aracely Gamez, Judith Gamez, Claudia Gamez, and Fernando Vasquez; and many nieces and nephews who adored him, including Chealsii Stevenson, Corey Ludden, Cameron Ludden, Juan Espinoza, Dierick Espinoza, Christopher Espinoza, Benjamin Lara, Fernando Lara, Esteban Lara, Alexa Lara, Ariana Lara, Aiden Lara, and Alondra Lara, along with several others.
He was preceded in death by his father, Benjamin Vasquez.
Juan was a former machine operator at Red Oak Turf, where he was known for his strong work ethic and dedication. Outside of work, he loved spending time with his family and caring for his roosters – a passion that brought him great joy and peace.
Those who knew Juan will remember his big heart, his laughter, and the love he gave so freely. He worked hard, loved deeply, and lived life with a quiet strength that touched everyone around him.
Juan’s funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 2, 2025, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with Jason Womack and the Rev. Alfredo Ceniceros officiating. He will be laid to rest at Mount Vernon Cemetery in Eldorado. The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 1, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Juan’s family members will serve as pallbearers.
Juan will be deeply missed and forever loved.

El servicio fúnebre de Juan se llevará a cabo el domingo 2 de noviembre de 2025, a las 2:00 p.m., en la Capilla de Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals, con Jason Womack y el reverendo Alfredo Ceniceros oficiando. Será sepultado en el cementerio Mount Vernon en Eldorado. La familia recibirá a sus amigos el sábado 1 de noviembre de 2025, de 6:00 a 8:00 p.m., en la capilla de Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
