Anne F. (Meaney) Droege of Manchester NH, formerly of Barefoot Bay FL and Medford MA, beloved sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend passed away peacefully on October 27, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was 92 years young.
Anne was an avid reader, a competitive scrabble and card player, and had a strong passion for traveling. Anne was always ready for an adventure, completing her bucket list at 80 years old, skydiving with her son. Anne was born and raised in Somerville MA. A proud 1950 graduate of St. Clement High School, Anne started her career at the Schraffts Candy. She then enjoyed her time as a social worker before retiring from Shawmut Bank. Anne met the love of her life, Norman “Mike” Droege, and they began their military lifestyle together. Throughout their 48 year marriage, the two of them lived across the globe, where they made each house a home. After years overseas (Paris) and many states and life-long friendships in between, Anne and Mike settled down in Medford MA to raise their four children.
Anne was the beloved bride of the late Norman “Mike” Droege, and the wonderful mother of Anne Ronan and her husband Jim, Patti Napolitano and Mike, Kathy Luongo and her husband Tim, and David Droege and his fiancé Lety Estrada.
Anne was the oldest of six children of David Sr. and Mary (McCaigue) Meaney. Survived by her siblings John and Judi Meaney of Revere MA and Kathy and Oreste Santini of Fountain Hills AZ. Preceded in death by her siblings Mary and Paul Pettee, David Meaney Jr, and Joseph Meaney.
She was the fun-loving “Gram” and “Nana” to Michael III, Michelle, Shannon, Fallyn, Jessi, Ashley, Samantha, Anthony, Ricki, and Nicole. Anne was known as “GG” to her great-grandchildren, Jimmy Jr., CJ, Keira, Kennedy, Stevie, Connor, Charlotte, Maleena, Jordan, Mikey, Austin, Sophia, Christian, and Gemma.Anne is also survived by countless friends, godchildren, nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Monday, November 3rd, from 3 to 7 PM. and again Tuesday morning, November 4th, at 9 AM followed by a funeral Mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 114 High St., Medford, at 10 AM. Services will conclude at Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Anne’s memory to The Elliot VNA, 1070 Holt Ave., Manchester NH 03109, or a charity of your choosing.
