Jimmy O’Neal Ross, 80, of Irwin County, Georgia, died Sunday, October 26, 2025, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Irwin County, Georgia, with the Rev. James Griffin officiating. Interment will follow at the family cemetery, 331 Lily Road, Ocilla, Georgia. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services in the sanctuary of the church.
Jimmy was born July 24, 1945, in Irwin County, Georgia, to the late Fred Aubrey & Barbara Youghn Ross. He graduated from Irwin County High School in 1963 and lived in Irwin County all of his life. Jimmy was a farmer and he could repair anything. He enjoyed hunting on his farm and loved his entire family, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren with all of his heart. For those that knew Jimmy well, he was a jokester. He was an active member of Bethlehem Baptist Church and the Men’s Sunday School class.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Vivian Hogan Ross, of Irwin County; children: Mindy Ross of Jacksonville, Florida, Bryon Ross & Anita of Irwin County and Cynthia James; grandchildren: Jessica Wiggins, Matthew Wiggins & Jess, Elizabeth Wiggins, Daniel James & Morgan, Kody James, Hailey James, Ethan Johnson, Hannah Ross and Walker Ross; great-grandchildren: Ryder James, Nataleigh Garner, Genesis Garner and Charlotte James; two sisters: Barbara Paulk & Jim of Valdosta and Anniece Lee of Ocilla. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
