Donna L. Berndt, 77
Dateline: Attleboro, MA Donna L. (Souza) Berndt, age 77, of Attleboro, formerly of Mansfield, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 24, 2025 at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. She was the beloved wife of Donald P. Berndt, to whom she was wed on November 9, 1968. Born in Brockton, MA on November 26, 1947, she was a loving daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Cipriani) Souza. Donna grew up in her hometown of Mansfield and was a graduate of Mansfield High School. Dedicated to taking care of her treasured family, Donna’s love for them, especially her grandchildren was immeasurable. She was also-ever-so proud of her husband and sons hard work ethics and since 1974 was an owner, amongst many other roles she played at D. Berndt Sanitation and Excavation in Attleboro. Donna had made her home in Attleboro for the past fifty-seven years and was a communicant of Saint Mary’s Church in Mansfield. Donna also received much pleasure and enjoyment when cooking for her family. In addition to her husband of nearly fifty-seven years, she is survived by her devoted sons, Eric P. Berndt and his wife Jennifer of Attleboro and Kevin D. Berndt and his wife Eva of Attleboro. She was the cherished grandmother of Sydney Berndt and Nathan Berndt. She was the dear sister of Pamela Stoddard and her husband Keith of North Attleboro and Kathy Cipriani of New Hampshire. She is also survived by her many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. Her Funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Friday, October 31st at 11:00 A.M. in Saint Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt Street (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will follow at Saint Mary’s Cemetery in Mansfield. Visiting hours are omitted and in lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution in Donna’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
