Obituary

June Travers Galvin, 86, of Derry, NH went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in the presence of her family at Granite VNA Hospice, Concord, NH, Friday October 17, 2025 after a period of declining health.
June was born February 13, 1939 in Peabody, MA, the daughter of the late Henry S and Mary O (Mello) Travers. She was raised in Danvers, MA, prior to relocating to Derry when she was young. She attended local schools and was a resident of Derry most of her life.

June was a keeper at home, caring well for her beloved husband and two children. She was seen in the early morning reading Scripture and quietly spending time with her Savior. June was a great cook, enjoyed knitting and was found reading a good mystery on occasion. She was a part-time employee of Weight Watchers for an extended period of time and enjoyed encouraging others to reach their goal. June and her husband helped run the AWANA youth program at Calvary Baptist Church for many years. June was happy and content in her role as a wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. June often wrote loving notes to encourage or console the heart of others and was more concerned of how her children were dealing with her stay in hospice than her own difficulty.

Members of the family include two children and their spouses, her son Francis C (Joanne) Galvin, daughter, Karen E. (James E.) McCue, five grandchildren, Joshua (Aimee) Joki, Justin (Brieanna) Galvin, Jennifer Galvin, Emily-Kate (Stephen) Sample and Gretchen Joki, 11 Great Grandchildren, Sedona, Clive, Sawyer, Russell, Victoria June, Evelyn, Ryan, Emelaine, Jeffery and Joseph, and two more on the way, and her sister Joyce Morin. June was predeceased by her beloved husband of 64 years, Francis Frasier Galvin, who passed in 2022 and her sister Carolyn Emerson in 2024.
