LIMINGTON- Robert Ruggieri, age 74, of Limington, Maine, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family.
Robert was born on May 2, 1951, in Providence, Rhode Island, the son of Domenic Ruggieri and Janet F. Engley.
He built a highly respected career as a property manager, starting Rhode Island bank where he specialized in settling estates, and later serving as an executive property manager for low-income and family housing in Boston, MA. Beyond his professional life, Robert was a true artist of restoration. For decades, he was known for his skilled hands and sharp eye for forgotten treasures. His deep passion for antiquing and restoring furniture was more than a hobby; he possessed an uncanny ability to see the potential in every piece of discarded wood, patiently transforming it back to its original beauty.
In 2009, Robert married Lucy Risbara. Together, they spent countless hours exploring antique shops, each finding joy in the hunt for the next project. Their life was a shared dream of breathing new life into old things, and their home was a testament to their love and creativity—a warm and welcoming space built together. Robert will be remembered for his unconditional love, kindness, and for the beautiful, timeless furniture he painstakingly restored.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Lucy Ruggieri; his children, Kimberly Ruhle and Jennifer Wisneski, and their husbands, Roger Ruhle and Mark Wisneski; his stepchildren, Nichelle Sharp, Michael Sumner, Erika Tozier, and Nicole Sumner; 14 cherished grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Ronald, Steven, Michael, and John Ruggieri, Adrienne Zampini, and Rita Covill. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Richard and Raymond Ruggieri.
A service will be held at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Limerick, Maine, on November 1, 2025, at 10 a.m.
