Obituary

Anne B. Hogan, 78, of Worcester died Tuesday, October 14th in Tatnuck Park surrounded by her family. She leaves her son, Sean Hogan and his wife, Christy of Worcester; two brothers, Kenneth Hogan of Worcester and Neal Hogan and his wife, Sandra of Holden; two grandchildren, Ryan and Brendan Hogan; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four brothers, Joseph, Gene, Ralph, and Roger Hogan; a sister, Mary Barrette and her husband Bill; and three sisters in law, Betty, Barbara and Bernadette Hogan.

She was born in Worcester, the daughter of James and Bertha (Stearns) Hogan. Anne worked for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for 34 years as a social worker, retiring in 2007. Her work reflected her kind and compassionate spirit, and she touched many lives throughout her career. Above all, Anne was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Anne had a lifelong love for all things Disney — from classic films to magical trips to the parks, where she embraced the wonder and joy of each visit. She also cherished cozy family game nights, especially playing Trivial Pursuit, and could often be found working on crossword puzzles. Proud of her Irish heritage, Anne enjoyed listening to traditional Irish music, admiring Irish art, and celebrating the culture that meant so much to her. She was an avid reader, always finding comfort and inspiration in the pages of a good book.
