Obituary

Marylou (Centola) Currier, a 30 year resident of Chelsea and formerly of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Sunday, October 5, 2025 at the Massachusetts General Hospital. She was 76 years old.

Marylou was born in Boston on September 4, 1949, a daughter of the late Pasquale Centola and Jane (Suthons) Centola. She grew up in Charlestown where she was educated in the Boston Public School System and graduated from Charlestown High School. She worked as an office cleaner at the Old City Hall in Boston for 40 years, a job that she loved. Marylou had an active social life and got out every day.

Marylou is the beloved wife of the late John R. Currier. She is the devoted mother of Gina Delvalle and her husband Boston Police Officer Marc, and the late Christopher Currier. She is the loving Nana of Cameron, Colin, and Owen Delvalle. She is the dear sister of Thomas Centola and his wife Marie, and the late Elizabeth Griffin, Barbara Cannata, George Centola, Peter Centola, Carol Centola, and Victor Centola. She is the longtime companion of Jack Leeman. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Marylou's Funeral on Friday, October 10, 2025 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10 A.M. in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown. Her burial will be private. Her visiting hours will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2025 from 4 P.M. to 7 P.M. in the funeral home.
