Willodean Tucker Wood, 93, of Ty Ty, passed away Saturday October 4, 2025 at Southwell Rehabilitation in Adel, Ga.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday October 7, 2025, at Ty Ty First Baptist Church. The Reverend Joseph L. Crumley will officiate with burial following in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, October 6, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Pallbearers will be Brodie Wood, Grayson Wood, Bobby Stout, Keith Newell, Allen Peugh, and Robert Setters.
She was born May 19, 1932, in Marion County Alabama to the late Thomas Jackson Tucker and Bertha Mae Palmer Tucker. She had lived in Tift County for the last 75 years.
Prior to her retirement, she worked at TCDI for 30 years. Her joy was taking care of others. A vast number of people in Tift County remember “Miss Dean”. She was a member of First Assembly of God and also attended Ty Ty Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Wood Jr.; her parents; a brother, Coy Tucker of Hamilton, Alabama; sister and brother-in-law, Alma and JT Satterwhite of Hamilton, Alabama; and sister and brothe-in-law, Maxine and Billy Wishum of Guin, Alabama.
She is survived by her sons and their wives, Greg and Tina Wood of Tifton, and Steve and Melissa Wood of Ty Ty. Grandchildren, Keith (Chasidy) Wood, Tyler Wood, Hope (Bobby) Stout, Taylor (Lauren) Wood, and Ansley Wood; seven great-grandchildren and one more on the way. She is also survived by brothers, Gene (Betty) Tucker and Dwaine (Sherrel) Tucker of Hamilton, Alabama, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Dean had a deep love for her family and was deeply devoted to her faith. Her main goal in life was to make it to heaven when her journey was over. Well done thy good and faithful servant.
