Brenda Lovejoy McMillan 75, of Enigma, GA passed away on October 3, 2025, at the Regency Hospital, Macon, GA. She was born on May 12, 1950, in Macon, GA.
Ms. McMillan graduated from McEvoy High School in Macon before pursuing further education at Georgia Southwestern State College in Americus, GA. There she gained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education with concentration in the Behavioral Sciences (Psychology, Sociology, and Anthropology).
Her work history includes 21 years at Sumter Electric Membership Corporation and several years at South GA Technical College. She made lasting contributions to her community of Americus and several out of state community colleges through skills in grant writing and foundation development. She enjoyed publishing and helping people. Her community service included serving as Treasurer of First United Methodist Church for several years where she was a member.
Ms. McMillan was the daughter of the late I.J. Lovejoy Jr. and Margie Peacock Lovejoy. She is survived by one son, Spencer Lee Saxon, of Alpharetta; and two brothers, I.J. Lovejoy III (Jimmy) of Canton, GA and Randy Gene Lovejoy of Americus, GA.
Ms. McMillan is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, James Ted McMillan of Enigma, GA.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals located at 420 Love Avenue, Tifton, GA. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at the funeral home chapel with Jeremy Moore and Jerry Tolle officiating. The interment will be held at Turner Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Enigma, GA (located on Enigma-Turner Church Road in the edge of Tift County).
Pallbearers include Reece Hall, Bob Spradlin, Bill Harris, Arnold Durham, Ronnie Greer, Rene Smith, Greg Crowder, and David Brokamp. Honorary pallbearers include caregivers Ginger Kelly, Peggy Carr, Terry Graham, Rebecca Hall, and Mae Barnes Purvis.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Turner Church Cemetery Trust Fund in care of Jerry Hall, 595 Mcmillan Yawn Road, Enigma, GA.
