BALDWIN- Penny Ellen Thorne of Baldwin Maine passed away peacefully on September 30th, 2025
at Maine Medical Center surrounded by her family.
Penny was born in Portland Maine to Roland and Geraldine Guilbault on October 29th, 1964. She grew up on the farm in Porter Maine where she attended local schools and graduated from Sacopee Valley in 1983.
Penny married Steven Thorne on June 24th, 1989, and was blessed with two children Steven Jr. and Samantha.
In 1997 Penny and Steven bought their forever home, a family farm in North Baldwin where they raised their children and an assortment of different animals. Penny worked many different jobs throughout her life but her true passion was being a homemaker.
Penny became a grandmother in January of 2023 when her daughter Samantha had her first child Abigail and again in January of 2025 when Samantha had her second child Lucas. She loved being a Mimi more than anything in the world.
Penny was very involved in her community and took pride in her dedication to the Baldwin Community Auxiliary. In her spare time, you would find her working on a craft project.
Penny leaves behind her Husband Steven Sr. of Baldwin. Son Steven Thorne Jr. and wife Jennifer of Baldwin. Daughter Samantha Day, husband Jerry, and her two beautiful grandchildren Abigail and Lucas Day of Porter. Along with aunts, uncles, cousins, and many nieces and nephews. Penny was very loved and will be greatly missed by her family and those who knew her.
A celebration of life will be held on October 19th, 2025, from 1-3 at the Baldwin Community Center. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to the Baldwin Community Auxiliary or a cancer foundation of your choice.
