Kenneth Lyle Ashbaugh, 84, of Northern Cambria, PA passed away on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 surrounded by family at his daughter’s home.
The son of Elmer Clair and Edna Jennie (Treese) Ashbaugh, he was born on July 12, 1941 in Luciusboro, PA.
On January 8, 1966, he married Pauline “Polly” Elizabeth (Gromley). They shared over fifty-nine years of marriage together until Polly’s recent death on July 6, 2025.
Work was Ken’s main hobby. Until last year he still worked as a dozer operator with Ed Krevel. Throughout his long career, Ken had been employed as an equipment operator in the coal mines; as a coal miner; in the logging industry and years ago drove a milk truck. Even in his spare time, Ken enjoyed working on equipment.
He is survived by his four children: Theresa M. Long; Kenneth Ashbaugh and wife Mary; Sandra M. Bernecky and significant other, Fred Farabaugh and Kimberly Venesky and fiancé, Haiden Pierce; his ten grandchildren: Angel; Jeffrey: Alicia; Zachary; Amy; Nicholas; Randall; Samuel; Hannah and Nathan; his thirteen great-grandchildren: Jason; Marissa; Ethan; Christian; Jewlee; Jackey; Levi; Lucas; Claire; Cassidy; Elliot; Gracelynn and Bennett; his brother, William E. Ashbaugh and his sister, Ethel Shaffer..
Ken was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Polly and his three sisters: Betty Jane Fadden; MaryAnn Stains and Edith Mae Ashbaugh.
Family and friends will be received from 2-4:00 p.m. and 6-8:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 28, 2025 at the Rairigh Funeral Home, Ltd. in Hillsdale, PA, where an 11:00 a.m. funeral service will take place on Monday, September 29, 2025 with Pastor Robert White officiating.
