Obituary

Daniel Brielmann passed away peacefully at his home with family around him on Tuesday, September 23, 2025.

Dan was born and raised in Connecticut. He was a graduate of Massachusetts College of Art

He was an artist and with his wife created MarDan spending a number of years as a craftsman. Then he was a teacher. Dan embarked on a television career starting in local community news at Continental Cablevision in Brockton MA where he also produced the award winning Children’s Monthly News Show. From local community news, he went on to work at a number of Boston news stations. He retired as a videographer of many years from WBZ Channel 4 in Boston.

After retiring Dan was able to achieve one of his dreams. He hiked the New England portion of the Appalachian Trail. He followed that hike by hiking the 200 mile Bay Circuit Trail in Massachusetts. He produced videos about both hikes focusing on the Preservation of nature and the protection of natural resources.

Dan was a talented lifelong musician who performed his own original music and lyrics on all the videos that he produced. He was the musician for the environment.

Daniel was passionate his whole life about the environment. With his wife, he created a website e-Awakening.com where he did stories and music that shone a spotlight on people that were doing positive things for the environment. He did presentations in numerous Massachusetts libraries about the Bay Circuit Trail hike focusing on the importance of preserving our natural resources and open space. Dan lived his love of the environment creating a backyard wildlife sanctuary at his home which he was able to enjoy every day.

Daniel was the son of the late Robert and Caryl(Doxsee) Brielmann. He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend Marilyn (Cosato) Brielmann; his sister Diane and her husband Thomas Hanak of PA; his sister Gail and her husband John Giampolo of CT; his brother Glenn and his late wife Marsha Brielmann of CT; his brother Chris Brielmann and his wife Debbie of CT; his Sister and Brother-in-law Louise and Thomas Cosato of MA; his niece Lynn Silva of MA and numerous nieces and nephews.

Even though Daniel is no longer here with us, he will be forever treasured by family and friends who will miss his smile, music, passion, enthusiasm and kind heart.
