Francis L. "Bud” Willey, 88, of Manchester, NH, passed away Thursday September 18, 2025, in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 3, 1937, in Enfield, NH, a son of the late Robert and Gertrude (Cossingham) Willey. Bud and his wife Nancy Willey lived for 50 years in Auburn, NH prior to moving to FL and later back to Manchester. He worked for St. Johnsbury trucking for several years as a commercial truck driver. Upon his retirement he continued driving trucks for McDevitt Motors for an additional 19 years, delivering new trucks all over the country. Bud was able to take his children and grandchildren for rides with him in some of those big trucks, leaving them with some cherished memories of those trips. Bud was a great carpenter and enjoyed building houses. He also enjoyed boating.
He is survived by four children, Kevin Willey, Keith Willey and wife Emma, Bruce Willey and wife Marsha, and Sharon Leary; six grandchildren, six great grandchildren, one brother, Kenneth Willey of Coco, FL; as well and many nieces, nephews and extended family He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 68 years, Monica Nancy Willey in 2023, as well as a brother, Charles Willey and two sisters, Margaret Raitt and Roberta Watz.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday September 24, 2025 from 4 – 6pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry, NH with a service to begin at 6pm in the funeral home. The burial will be held by the family at a later date in the Village Cemetery in Auburn.
