Barbara (Karam) Halpy, age 94, passed away on September 14, 2025, at the Agawam East Rehab and Nursing Home. She was born on January 20, 1931, in Springfield, daughter of the late Fred and Victoria (Suse) Karam. Barbara worked as a waitress at the Cattleman Lounge in Springfield for many years as well as Springfield Hospital in Food Services before she retired. She is survived by her sons Fred Halpy of Chicopee and Joe Halpy and his wife Joann of Feeding Hills; six grandchildren, Barbara Hollimon, Nicole Carson, Richard Halpy, Abbey Halpy, William Carson and Joseph Halpy and five great grandchildren, Isabella Arzola, Rocco Arzola, Dylan Hollimon, Alexis Hollimon and Joseph King and her special niece, Elizabeth Allard. She is predeceased by her daughters Anne Halpy and Amanda Halpy; her siblings Fred, Ralph, Emra, Ida and Fae and her granddaughter Amy Rose Halpy. A Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at 11:30 AM in St Michael’s Cemetery. The Grise Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
