Brenda Joyce Spradley Vaughan, 81, of Tifton passed away Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at Tift Regional Medical Center. A graveside funeral service will be held for Mrs. Vaughan at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Oak Ridge Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest. The Rev. David Smith will officiate.
Mrs. Vaughan was born March 17, 1944, in Colquitt County, to the late Sudie Felts and G. H. Spradley. She lived most of her life in Worth County, but resided in Tifton with her surviving husband, James E. Vaughan.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Brenda Lee Johnson; one sister, Pat Hutchinson; and one brother, Ronnie Spradley.
Mrs. Vaughan spent her entire life taking care of others, working as a nurse at the Worth County Hospital for Dr. Fredrick McLean and in the medical field for 37 years. In addition to her career in the medical field in Georgia, she worked in California for 10 years with a gastroenterologist.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Vaughan is survived by one daughter and her partner, Donna Bradley (Brett Elrod); her grandchildren, Cory Bradley, Brittany Bradley (Carl Britt), and Darrick Taylor (Margete Griffin); and her great-grandchildren, Carson, Allie Mae, Brody and Nova. She also leaves behind her siblings and their spouses, Wayne Spradley (Lena), Jean Carlton (Wayne), Judy Harris (Wilbur), Donnie Spradley, Camille Taylor (Bobby), Jerry Spradley (Susan), Kathy Allen, and Charity Nix (Steve); many nieces and nephews; and her brothers-in-law, Robert Vaughan of Oregon, Vincent Vaughan of California and George Vaughan of Indiana.
