Arthur E. Russell, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Sunday, September 7, 2025 at Advocate Healthcare of East Boston. He was 70 years of age.
Arthur was born in Boston on February 6, 1955, a son of the late Margaret "Pat" (Hitchman) Russell. He grew up in Charlestown where he was educated in the Boston Public School System and graduated from Charlestown High School in 1972. Arthur was an entrepreneur who owned Erin's pizza in Charlestown as well as many other establishments. He enjoyed contributing to the many youth programs in the neighborhood.
Arthur is the loving husband of the late Nancy (Melaugh) Russell. He is the devoted father of Marc Russell, Erin Russell, Christine Russell and her partner Matt Basteri, Patrick Russell, and the late Bernadette Russell. He is the loving grandfather to his granddaughters. He is the dear brother of John Russell and his wife Mary Ellen, Patty Burton and her husband Bob, Kevin Russell and his wife Cyndi, Kenny Russell and his wife Mary Ellen, Jacqueline Burgess and her husband John, Kathleen Sullivan and her late husband Quinny, and the late Christine Russell and Robert Russell. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Arthur's Visiting Hours on Monday morning, September 15, 2025 from 9:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. in The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown, followed by his Funeral Mass at 12 Noon in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren St. Charlestown. His burial will be private.
