Worcester: Kenneth E. Bibeau, 74, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 4, 2025 at UMass Memorial Medical Center, University Campus after a courageous battle with cancer. He leaves behind several cousins, extended family members and a myriad of friends to numerous to list.
Ken was born in Worcester, son of the late Edgar and Susan (Skinner) Bibeau. He graduated from St. John’s High School in Shrewsbury and earned his Bachelor’s Degree from College of the Holy Cross class of 1972. He remained a proud supporter of and participant in both St. John’s and Holy Cross alumni events. He spent his career in the retail and banking industries, including Jordan Marsh, Thom McAn, TJ Maxx and retiring as a Vice President at Bank of America. He was an active member of Our Lady of the Rosary Church where he served as a eucharistic minister for many years. He was active with and served on many boards within the Worcester community including more than 50 years with the Worcester County Light Opera; Worcester Chamber Music Society; the International Wine & Food Society; The Chaîne des Rôtisseurs; The Retired Men’s club of Greendale and several others. He had a wide range of interests, including travel (especially to Paris), theater, music, sports (a ton of high school hockey games), and of course great food and wine with which he shared with so many family members, friends and new acquaintances. One could always find Ken in the front row of Hanover Theatre, Mechanic’s Hall or just about any venue within a 60-mile radius that was offering a must-see event. To say he enjoyed attending almost any cultural arts offering followed by a great dining experience would be an understatement as Ken’s social calendar was always full affording him the opportunity to be surrounded with family and friends thought his life’s journey.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 from 5-7 p.m. in Nordgren Memorial Chapel 300 Lincoln St. Worcester, MA 01605. A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Rosary Church 25 Fales St. Worcester. Burial will be private in Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge MA. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ken’s memory may be made to the Worcester County Light Opera, 21 Grandview Ave. Worcester, MA 01603.
