Witold Z. “Victor” Korczak, 71, of Peabody, passed away peacefully, with his family by his side at home on August 26, 2025.
“Victor” was born in Wroclaw, Poland to Janusz and Krystyna (Grubowska) Korczak. He, Witek, moved from Poland to the US in 1981. He originally lived with his brother Chris on Long Island, but soon moved to Salem, MA.
Witek ‘Victor’ worked for Aero Engineering in Beverly since 1993. He had a strong commitment to the Boisvert Family and always gave 110% to their success.
Witek had a passion for the ocean and during his free time, spend many days fishing on his boat with family and friends. A member of the Palmer Cove Yacht Club for over 25 years, where he earned his Lifetime Membership and had made so many friends. Witek loved to volunteer and enjoyed cooking for the meetings and outings for the club. He was also a member of the 107th RC Flyers Club. He enjoyed many hours of building planes and flying them with many of his aviator enthusiast friends.
Over the past few years Victor helped get a group together to meet at the Peabody Park where he often took his beloved pal Bentley to run and play. He was loved by many.
He is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Korczak of Cape Coral, FL, his son Adam Korczak of Peabody, their mom, Christine Mahan of Cape Coral, FL, his brother Christopher Korczak of Long Island, NY, his sister, Maria (Jagoda) Markiewicz of Wroclaw, Poland and brother Jacek Korczak and wife Jadwiga also of Wroclaw. He also leaves his devoted sister-in-law and care giver, Cheryl Bartkiewicz of Peabody, his long time companion, Ela Matczak of Salem, and best friend, Wesley Oprzedek of Danvers , as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his younger sister, Bozena Walat of New York.
Relatives and friends are invited to his visiting hours on Saturday, September 6, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:20 PM at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Route 114 / 1-A] Salem, with his service to follow at 12:30PM.
