William Lamont Capocci Jr., 81, of Whitman, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 1, 2025.
Born on September 21, 1943, William was the son of the late William and Lillianne (Evans) Capocci. He was raised in Medfield, Massachusetts, and eventually made his home in Whitman, where he lived for many years.
William proudly served his country in the Vietnam War as part of the U.S. Army’s as a Green Beret. After his military service, he went on to build a successful career at Household Financial Corp. He was a dedicated member and past Chairperson of Whitman financial committee for many years, where he offered his insight and commitment to the community.
A man of great curiosity and adventure, William was an avid traveler who loved exploring new places around the world.
William was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 34 years Jo-Anne (Murray) Capocci. He is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Corbett and her husband David Dunham, his son William L. Capocci III and his wife Amy, his significant other, Kathleen Castagnozzi. William was the grandfather to Benjamin, Nicholas, Katherine, and Alexander. He is also survived by his sisters, Barbara Horne, Laurie LaPlante, and Sherry Jones.
