Edward Paul “Eddie” Durica
May 5, 1949 – September 1, 2025

Edward Paul “Eddie” Durica, 76, of Anderson passed away peacefully on September 1, 2025 at Community Hospital Anderson following a brief illness.

He was born on May 5, 1949 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania to John J. and Mary (Smatlak) Durica. He had resided at Edgewater Woods Nursing Home for the past several years. Having grown up in Johnstown, PA he moved to Anderson, IN in 1995.

He did piece work at the Hopewell Center in Anderson. He took joy in simple pleasures in life. In his younger years, he enjoyed family, music, church, and enjoyed sweets and home cooked meals. He loved interacting and teasing with caregivers, family and friends.
He was raised in a large, loving, faith filled home and despite his health challenges, his parents included him in all family activities. He was one of eight siblings.

He is survived by his five brothers and sisters, Richard Durica of New Jersey, David (Dianne) Durica of California, Karen (Mark) Durica of Westfield, Don (Jody) Durica of Zionsville, and Beth Ann Durica of Anderson; a sister-in-law, Betty Harbaugh of New Jersey; many aunts and uncles who were always kind and inclusive to him. He also had many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father (1994) and mother (2017); and a sister, Debbie Ann Durica (2024); a brother, Wayne Harbaugh and sister-in-law, Janet Durica (2025).

A private family service will be held at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service in Anderson, IN.
Graveside service will be at 2:00 pm on Friday, September 5, 2025 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Johnstown, PA.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Hopewell Center.
