WORCESTER - Mrs. Rose M. (Trippi) Fazio, 101, passed away peacefully from her home where she resided for 71 years.
Born in Worcester on May 29, 1924, a daughter of the late Antonio and Salvatrice “Sadie” (Prisinzano) Trippi. She was the loving wife of 60 years to her wonderful husband Francis C. Fazio who passed on September 24, 2007. She was predeceased by her three brothers, Angelo Trippi, Frank Trippi and Anthony Trippi.
A lifelong resident of Worcester, Rose was a graduate of Commerce Trade School, class of 1942. She worked as an assistant credit manager at John C. MacInnes Department store before starting her family.
As a young girl she learned to sew and became a talented seamstress. She enjoyed making clothes and lent a helping hand with alterations for family and friends throughout her lifetime. She had a passion for cooking and baking and enjoyed entertaining family and friends, having hosted numerous dinner parties, holidays, card parties and pool parties. Her home was a revolving door welcoming family and friends to sit, relax and eat. She was an accomplished embroiderer and enjoyed playing cards and crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed traveling and through the years was able to spend time in Florida during the winter months with her late husband and friends. Above all she loved her family and grandchildren and spent time with them every chance she had.
She maintained a vibrant, caring, witty personality at the age of 101 and everyone who knew her loved her sense of humor and timeless endurance.
She is survived by her son, Louis J. Fazio and his wife Linda; her daughter, Cheryl Fleming and her husband Stephen; six grandchildren, Francis Fazio and his wife Johanna, Jeffrey Fazio, Michael Fazio and his wife Hillary, Stephanie Fleming and her fiancé Brett Elfstrom. Stephen Fleming Jr, and Jesse Fleming; she leaves her brother, William Trippi and his wife Marilyn; three great grandchildren, McKenna, Jackson, and Carter Fazio; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to Fazio Funeral Home, 9 Branch Street Worcester on Friday, September 5th from 9:00am to 10:30am. A funeral mass will follow on Friday September 5th at Our Lady of Loreto-Mt Carmel Church 33 Massasoit Rd in Worcester at 11:00am.
