Obituary

Raymond L. Martel, “Pops”, 91, died August 25, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family and close friends.

He was born in Manchester on August 11, 1934 the son of Irenee and Ernestine (Hebert) Martel.

He served his country in the Army National Guard.

He was a cab driver, and a truck driver for Mailways.

He was a compassionate, understanding man who was always helping others and never expected anything in return.

He was a Scoutmaster of Troop 124, and a member of Knights of Columbus. He also held membership at Eastside Club, where he enjoyed playing billiards. He also enjoyed roller skating.

He was predeceased by his wife, Therese (Hebert) Martel and a sister, Rita Martel.

Family members include his children; Denis Martel and his wife, Elaine of Goffstown, Rita Gottselig and her husband, Wilfred of Alba. MO., Gloria Orlando and her husband, Joseph of Hooksett, Alice Orlando, Paul Martel and his wife, Ginger all of Manchester, his life partner, Dorothy Cormier of Manchester, five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He enjoyed working and volunteering at Evo Cycle alongside Troy Cormier, who was like a son to him.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, August 29, 2025 from 9:00 to 10:30 am at J. N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home. A prayer service will take place at 10:30 am.

Committal prayers will follow in St. Augustin Cemetery, South Beech St.

The family would like to thank Raymond’s caregiver, Maureen Fallavollita who had cared for Raymond for over five years.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
