Obituary

North Grosvenordale, CT- Richard W. Boss, 78, passed away peacefully Saturday, August 23, 2025, surrounded by his loving family, after a brief illness.
Richard was born on July 7, 1947, in Worcester, MA to Wallace R. Boss and Jeanette L. (Hebert) Napierata. He is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, Cecile A. (Robitaille) Boss and his three children, Pamela Berry (Robert) of Charlton, Karen Iwanski (Steven) of Dudley and Richard Boss Jr. (Andrea) of Quinebaug, CT. He also leaves behind his adoring grandchildren, Channing, Kyle, Aaron, Evan and Kamryn and his two sisters, Cynthia Napierata of Quinebaug, CT and Diane Gale of Bridgewater, MA as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother Ronald Boss.
Richard graduated from Holy Name High School and then went on to earn his bachelor’s degree at Roger Williams University and his MBA from Anna Maria College.
Richard proudly owned and operated two businesses during his lifetime: Boss Associates Inc, and Helpcare Inc. Following that, he became a medical business consultant, traveling throughout New England and New York. During that time, he was also an adjunct professor at Quinsigamond Community College, Becker College and Springfield Technical Community College.
He was a member of the Army National Guard and was also a Grand Knight at the Knights of Columbus and a member of the Harmony Club (Worcester).
Richard was passionate about sports and dedicated many years to coaching. Over the years he coached baseball, basketball and football at all levels from youth leagues to semi-pro. His dedication, leadership and love of sport made him a valued mentor both on and off the field.
In accordance with Richard’s wishes, his body has been donated to the Anatomical Gift Program for the Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University for medical education and research. Services are private at the convenience of the family.
