LIMINGTON- Launa B. Miner, age 79, passed away peacefully on Aug. 23, 2025, at Maine Medical Center.
She was born in Portland on July 28, 1946, a daughter of the late Robert and Harriett (Higgens) Norton and graduated from Bonny Eagle High School - Class of 1964.
Launa lived in Cornish until the age of six, then she has resided in Limington since then.
Over the years, she worked as a caterer, did house cleaning, cleaned at Hillside Lumber, and was a hairdresser. She also packed apples at Brackett’s Orchard.
She will always be remembered for her cooking abilities- especially baking cakes. She enjoyed canning, tending to her gardens - growing vegetables and flowers, and enjoyed going out to eat at seafood restaurants.
Launa was always willing to help anyone out in a time of need and she was always the first one to lend a helping hand and left an incredibly impact on all the people's life's that she has touched. She will be missed by all that knew her.
She is predeceased by her siblings- Mary Alice Monroe and Roy Norton.
Launa is survived by her beloved husband Malcolm Miner; her daughter- Penny Miner of Limington; many nieces and nephews; and her granddaughter- Sabrina Welts.
Visitation will be held on Saturday Aug. 30th from 10 - 11 AM, followed by a service at 11 AM the Poitras, Neal & York Funeral Home, 71 Maple St., Cornish. A reception will then follow at the Old Limington Town Hall. Burial will be at Steep Falls Cemetery.
