William E. Smith, 66

William E. Smith, age 66, of North Attleboro, formerly of Attleboro passed away, in the presence of his loving family on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro.

Born in Attleboro, MA on January 4, 1959, he was a loving and devoted son of Dorothy L. (Titus) Smith of Norton and the late Bruce H. Smith, Sr.

Billy was raised in Norton and was a 1977 graduate of Norton High School. He had made his home in North Attleboro for the past eight years and formerly resided in Attleboro. Billy worked at Stop & Shop in North Attleboro.

Billy loved spending time with family and friends, especially at the Norton VFW Post, where he was a familiar face, attended many events and made lifelong impressions on all who knew and loved him. He was also an avid sports fan, had a special place in his heart for animals and will be sadly missed by the ducks and squirrels he enjoyed feeding at Capron Park in Attleboro.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving son Timothy W. Smith, Sr. of North Providence, Rhode Island. He was the devoted brother of Bruce H. Smith, Jr. and his wife Kathleen of North Belmore, New York, Tammy L. Smith of Attleboro and Gail A. Lambert of North Attleboro and her late husband Robert Lambert. He was the cherished grandfather of Timothy W. Smith, Jr., Jaden J. Smith, Amaya Smith and the much-loved uncle of Bruce Smith, Ryan Smith and Casey Smith.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a service in celebration of his life on Thursday, August 28th from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at the Norton VFW Post 8049, 38 Summer Street in Norton.

Burial will be held privately at the Norton Common Cemetery in Norton and those wishing may remember Billy with a donation in his memory to the American Diabetes Association, 40 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp Street, Norton.
