Obituary

Zona Bell Stone Daniels Selph, 95, of Tifton passed away Friday, August 15, 2025, at her residence. A graveside funeral service will be held for Mrs. Selph at 4:00 p.m. Monday, August 18, 2025, at Mount Calvary Global Methodist Church Cemetery on Upper Ty Ty Road, where she will be laid to rest. The Rev. Dan Eidson will officiate.

Chase Grogan, John Alec McKinnon, Peyton Norman, Cody Reddell and Shannon York will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Guess and Eric Webb.

Born in Brooks County on November 7, 1929, Mrs. Selph was the daughter of the late General Jackson Stone and Ollie Ashworth Stone. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Alfred Kemp Daniels; her second husband, Edward Robert Selph; one daughter, Theresa “Recie” Daniels Guess; four brothers, James Edward Stone, Henry Stone, Samuel Stone and Jim Stone; two sisters, Frances Stone and Vivian Tucker; and two sons-in-law, Jim Herndon and Jay Bo McKinnon.

Before retiring, Mrs. Selph worked at Mrs. Kinser’s Food in Tifton as well as being a bus driver for the Tift County Board of Education. Her hobbies included gardening and cooking; and she was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Tifton.

Mrs. Selph leaves behind her loving family, which includes two daughters , Barbara Jean Daniels Herndon of Sylvester and June Daniels McKinnon of Tifton; one son-in-law, Gary Guess; three sisters-in-law, Gerri Selph, Barbara Haynes and Jessie Daniels; four grandchildren, Monica McCrary York (Shannon), Darby Hester Anderson, Laci-Jae McKinnon Webb (Eric) and John Alec McKinnon III; three great-grandchildren, Peyton Norman (Shannon), Charlee Norman Reddell (Cody) and Harper Rae Webb; two great-great grandchildren, Josephine Zona Bell Norman and Benson Charles Reddell, who is due in November; many beloved nieces and nephews; and a special neighbor and friend, Sandra Johnson.
