Laurence J. "Joe" Tosi Jr., a lifelong resident of Somerville, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. He was 91 years of age.
Joe was born in Somerville on September 28, 1933, a son of the late Laurence J. Tosi and Mary (Albertine) Tosi. He grew up in Somerville where he attended the Somerville Public Schools and graduated from Somerville High School in 1951. Joe enlisted into the United States Army on December 10, 1953 and served his country with honor and courage during the Korean Conflict. He was honorably discharged on December 9, 1955 with the rank of Specialist-3. Joe worked for Boston Edison as a lineman and retired following 40 years of dedicated service. He was a member of the Somerville City Club, Dante Club and Billerica Lodge of Elks # 2071.
Joe is the beloved husband of the late Jeanette (Carbone) Tosi. He is the devoted father of Janet Marena and her husband Ted and the late Laurence J. Tosi III and his surviving wife Dana. He is the loving Grandpa Joe to Enzo Marena, Dante Marena and Nicholas Tosi. He is the loving partner of Joan Fidler. He is the beloved brother of the late Marilyn Randall.
A Celebration of Life for Joe will be announced at a later date.
