Sylvia Marie (Sulonen) Bent, 87, of Franklin died August 11 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital, Attleboro. She was the beloved wife of Floyd L. Bent for the past 67 years.
Born in Norwood, June 30, 1938, the daughter of the late Mikko and Tyyne (Maki) Sulonen, Sylvia was raised in Walpole and had lived in Wrentham for many years before moving to Franklin in 1993.
Sylvia was a graduate of Walpole High School and had been a customer service representative for the Herb Lewis Insurance Agency in Walpole for 45 years.
Sylvia enjoyed riding in her antique cars, taking long drives on Sunday with her husband, and learning about nature.
Sylvia always had a smile, a wonderful sense of humor, and loved to be with people, especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Sylvia is survived by her daughter Beverly Marino and her husband Joseph of Plainville, and was the mother of the late Thomas L. Bent.
Sylvia is also survived by her “second son“ David Lull of Franklin and her daughter-in-law Robin Bent of Rehoboth.
Sylvia was the sister of the late Aili Lull.
She is also survived by her 5 grandchildren; John Bent, Michael Bent, Greg Bent, Mary Bent, and Adrian Grimm.
Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 16 in the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin ginleyfuneralhomes.com 131 Main Street, Franklin at 10:00.
Burial will be at a later date in Douglas Cemetery.
Calling hours will be on Friday, August 15, 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
