Jacqulyn M. Courtney, 63, of Worcester died unexpectedly Thursday, August 7th at home. She was born in Worcester, the daughter of the late James J. and Florence Ann (Wynne) Courtney. She leaves two sisters, Jean Yarrows and her husband, Richard of Hadley, MA, and Theresa Dyer of Enfield, CT, a niece, Courtney Steben and a great niece, Zoe Steben. She was predeceased by a sister, Christine Courtney.
Jackie was a former member of the Friends of Patch Reservoir and the former St. Charles Borromeo parish. Jackie will be remembered for her kind heart, caring nature, and the love she so generously shared with her family and friends. She cared for her parents and sister when their health began to fail
Jackie had a deep appreciation for the beauty of nature. Spending peaceful moments in her backyard watching the swans, heron, ducks, and watching the season change on the reservoir was her favorite pastime. She found this a place of serenity; her home and heart were always open.
She enjoyed trips to Maine and fall foliage drives. She also enjoyed getting together with childhood friends going out to dinner and attending summer concerts in the park
Jackie’s legacy of kindness, generosity, and love for nature will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Her visitation will be held on Friday, August 15th from 10:30 until 11:30 a.m. in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue followed by her funeral service at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, 260 Cambridge Street, Worcester.
