Obituary

“USJohn A. "Jake" Catalfamo, a 42 year resident of Charlestown and formerly of Dorchester, entered into eternal life at his home on Wednesday, August 6, 2025. He was 78 years of age.

Jake was born in Boston on December 12, 1946, a son of the late Samuel Catalfamo and Margaret (Boyd) Catalfamo. He grew up in Dorchester where he was educated. He enlisted in the United States Army on April 30, 1964 and served his country with honor and courage during the Vietnam Conflict. He was honorably discharged on April 14, 1967 with the rank of Specialist. Following his military service, Jake worked as a printer for Quinlan Publishing for over 20 years. He was an avid sports fan, especially hockey. He was known to tell a good dad joke, though he may have been the only one to find it funny. He was very proud of his military service and became interested in the culture and history of Germany from the time he was stationed there.

Jake is the beloved husband of Darlene. He is the loving father of Niccilina and her husband Andres, David, and Anthony and his wife Christina. He is the caring Grandpa/Papa of Adriana and Alice, Anthony, Jaxen, and Angelina. He is the dear brother of William and his wife Maryellen, and the late Beverly and her husband James. He is also survived by his aunt Louise, and many loving nieces and nephews.
