BUXTON- Michael Bailey, age 59, passed away unexpectedly at his home on August 6, 2025.
He was born in Portland, Maine on February 22, 1966, son of the late Avon and Mabel (Heath) Bailey. He attended local schools in Bowdoinham and Mount Ararat High School.
For many years he worked as an ambulance attendant and EMT in the Topsham, Bowdoinham and Brunswick Fire and Rescue Departments. He worked many years in the restaurant industry and most recently was self-employed as a business owner from which he retired in 2021.
He loved spoiling and spending time with his two dogs, Tessa and Cooper; loved to golf in his younger years and loved to travel. He also loved the theatre.
He was a proud member of the Maine Jaycees holding many offices over the years and was given the honor of a JCI Senatorship for outstanding dedication to the organization. He currently was the JCI Region 1 Chaplain.
He is survived by his wife Christine Bangs, niece Melissa Vavra of Buxton, best friends Stephen Taylor of Connecticut and Edward Gibson of South Carolina, and many, many great friends across the state and country.
There will be no service at this time and a memorial service may be held at a later date.
