Bounhom Inthirathvongsy, 87, of Woonsocket died Monday August 4, 2025 at The Friendly Home. He was the loving husband of Sommay Inthirathvongsy. They were married for over 60 years and spent their lives completely devoted to each other.
Born in Vientiane, Laos, Bounhom was raised in his native country, married and started his family there. He came to the United States to make a better life for his family. He lived for many years in the Woonsocket area and also briefly resided in the Fort Smith, Arkansas area.
Bounhom was employed at ACS Corporation in Woonsocket for many years until retiring.
Bounhom loved to enjoy the outdoors while fishing and hunting.
Bounhom will be remembered for his unconditional love and devotion to his wife Sommay and their family. Bounhom’s family meant everything to him. Everything he did in his life was for the benefit of his family.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his children Thongleuane, Bounpong, Bounkong, Khanthong, Aentacin and Ian Inthirathvongsy, Chandeuan Xaymongkhoun and Bouahong Xaymanivong.
Bounhom is survived by his many grandchildren and great grandchildren who he adored and was very proud of being their grandfather. His siblings have all passed away and he is also survived by many nieces and nephews and their families.
His funeral service will be Friday, August 8, 2025 beginning at 9:00am at Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave. Woonsocket. Following service the funeral procession will proceed to Swan Point Cemetery on Blackstone Blvd. in Providence.
Visiting hours are Thursday, August 7th 2025 with the funeral home, open during the afternoon and evening hours for relatives and friends to pay their respects and offer their condolences to the family.
