Obituary

John Harold Hinglebine passed away peacefully at home at the age of 76, on Tuesday, July 15, 2025. He was the son of the late Harold L. and Alma C. (Hebshie) Hinglebine. John leaves behind his devoted sister, Janice of Brockton, numerous cousins and friends.

Born and raised in Brockton, he was a graduate of Brockton High school, Class of 1967. After high school, he joined the United States Army, and was a black beret serving a tour of duty in Vietnam. He was the recipient of numerous combat and service medals including the Bronze Star. Following his honorable discharge, John worked as a licensed operating engineer for water treatment plants in Brockton, Cohasset, and Stoughton. Upon retirement at the age of 54, he held numerous licenses.

A lover of dogs, he was especially fond of his beloved dog, Dream. At an early age, John developed a passion for fishing, which continued throughout his life. He enjoyed sharing his catch with neighbors and friends.

A loving brother, loyal friend with a great sense of humor, kind and generous. Our memories of John will live with us forever.

Special recognition to the staff at Dana Farber, Weymouth and the Brockton Veterans’ Hospital for the excellent care and support.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday, July 21, 2025 from 4-7pm at the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont St (Rte 123), Brockton. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at Conley Funeral Home at 9:30am on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, for a Funeral Mass at 11am at St. Theresa Church, 343 N Main St, Brockton. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Brockton.
