Linda Gail Rowell Gibbs of Ty Ty passed away Thursday, July 10, 2025, at Pruitt Health Ashburn. Her funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, July 13, 2025, at First Baptist Church Ty Ty with the Rev. Walt Tompkins officiating. Mrs. Gibbs will be laid to rest at First Baptist Church Ty Ty Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 13, 2025, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church Ty Ty.
Richard Holley, Spencer Daniel, Nick Greeson and Zach Greeson will serve as pallbearers.
Born September 23, 1952, in Fitzgerald, Mrs. Gibbs was the daughter of the late Herman Elton Rowell, Sr. and Gertrude Dorminey Rowell. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gibbs was preceded in death by her husband, J. D. Gibbs, Jr..; three brothers, Herman Rowell, Lamar Rowell and Kelly Rowell; and two sisters, Cathy Coleman and Ruth Roberts. She worked for 21 years as a customer service representative at DOCO Credit Union and she was a member of Pine Hill Baptist Church in Worth County.
Mrs. Gibbs is survived by four sons; Bobby Joe Holley. Jr. and his wife, Leslie, of Washougal, Washington, Edgar Holley and his fiancé, Kaley Youghn, of South Carolina, Gerald Holley of Tifton, Johnathan Gibbs and Jessie Taylor of Ty Ty; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Janet and Herb Fulghum of Sparks and Ann Dale of Ty Ty; ten grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
