Obituary

Edmond Joseph St Amand Jr, aged 90 died on Saturday, June 21 at Quabbin Valley Healthcare where he had been a resident since January 2023.
Ed was born on July 10, 1934 in Lewiston, Maine to Edmond Sr and Alma (Clark) StAmand. He moved to Worcester as an infant and spent his life there. He is a veteran of both the Massachusetts National Guard and the US Marine Corps and was a member of the Main South American Legion post in Worcester and the Chester Tuttle post in Auburn. He was very proud to have “guarded the gates at Pearl Harbor” from 1952 to 1955.
Ed worked at Norton Company as a machinist until retirement and then enjoyed a part-time job in the bakery at Stop & Shop.

Ed is predeceased by two wives, Marilyn (Powers) StAmand and Patricia (Leufstedt) StAmand , two brothers Carleton StAmand and his wife Estelle, and Gordon StAmand, and a nephew Mark StAmand.

He leaves three daughters Karen Culkeen, Janet Hodgdon & Amy Kwasny, six grandchildren Timothy, Patrick, Meaghan & Kelly Culkeen, Sean Hodgdon and Kevin Kwasny and three great-grandchildren Dominic Morris, Charles Culkeen & Saoirse Fisher. He also leaves two nephews David and Jason StAmand and a niece Cheryl StAmand-Heckman.

Ed also leaves the much-loved family of his second wife Patricia, including her sons John and Sean Fournier, her grandchildren Robinson Fournier and Hayley Fournier and Ashley Aveni and great-grandaughter Nevaeh Porlier.
Nordgren Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements . Services will be held at a later date and will be private.

Ed’s family has much gratitude for the staff at Quabbin Valley Health Care where Ed had many friends, loved winning at bingo, and enjoyed endless ice cream and Hershey bars.
